My guide "How to Learn Mosaic, Train Your Dog, and Do Your Laundry" guide is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the busy woman, but it's not far from the truth.

If you're as busy as I am these days, you might want to consider this craft; it does hold the key to combining various aspects of your life into one creative endeavor.  For instance, do you have a lot of drawers full of keepsakes and family trinkets you've been meaning to do something with..shadow boxes, scrap-books, etc.?  And doesn't it make you feel guilty when you think about how you really need to do something with those things to get them up and on display?  I have drawers and boxes of things like that...old watches, medals, ribbons, photos, post-cards, newspaper clippings...That's the beauty of Pique Assiette mosaic.  You can blend china shards with found objects and treasures, and even images, in a way that's unique and fun.  Another area we all struggle with is the constant errands and wait-time we end of with in the course of the day.
What if, while waiting in an airport, you stopped into the gift shop and found a small magnet or trinket that would be perfect in one of your mosaics?  Or, as happened to me last year, while at the giant pet food store, I spotted the dog-biscuit bar, and realized that these could be varnished and incorporated into one of my dog frames.  What happens is that every-day routines turn into exciting opportunites that you might have missed otherwise.  Check out one of my lessons, and see if you don't start looking at your "everyday" life as the extraordinary, fascinating life it really is
